Well, officially I've been on leave since 29 July PM, but I am still running left, right and occasionally back to office at the moment, and of course the Clairester still hasn't quite gotten used to Home-Mummy, despite the fact that she is thrilled to bits. Just this morning, when she saw me outside her school, she exclaimed in a half-shocked, half-indignant tone: "Mummy, why are you here??!!!" So much for gratefulness.
So I've decided to take a break for one year and spend more time with the Clairester because, well, she's getting to primary school faster than you know it, so I figure, if not now, when? Over the past couple of years, it has also been heart-wrenching having to gently shove her aside because I was too tired from a day in the office, watch her friends go off on fun learning experiences with their mums and do fun homeschooling stuff, and stare at the tons of learning materials and books I bought for her simply rotting away on shelves and in boxes, just because I simply couldn't muster the energy to go through them with her.
The administrative bit of going on a one-year break is over. What's left now is to make sure I make the most out of this one year, and this is going to be my report book of sorts. So stay tuned!
